Terms of Service

Last updated 27 September 2026

Plain-language draft. This document was written to be readable and to describe how ScopePilot actually behaves. It is not legal advice and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before relying on it in a dispute.

These terms apply to your use of ScopePilot at usescopepilot.com (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

ScopePilot is a tool for drafting, pricing and exporting business proposals. It produces documents. It does not provide legal, financial, tax or business advice, and the templates it ships with are starting points, not vetted contracts.

You are solely responsible for the content of every proposal you create, for the accuracy of the prices and terms you put in it, and for any agreement you enter into with your own clients as a result.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and choose a password of at least 10 characters.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account.
  • One person or business per account. Do not share credentials.
  • You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.

Your email is your recovery route. A forgotten password can be reset by a link sent to your account's email address. If you lose access to that inbox as well, we may not be able to verify that the account is yours. Use a password manager.

3. Free and Pro plans

The free plan lets you build, price, preview and brand proposals without payment and without a time limit. The Pro plan costs $9.00 USD per month and additionally allows you to save and sync proposals to your account, export to print/PDF, and generate follow-up email drafts.

We may change what is included in each plan. If a change removes something material from a paid plan, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.

4. Billing

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
  • Pro is a recurring monthly subscription. It renews automatically until cancelled.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you are.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. Pro features pause while your account is past due and resume when payment succeeds.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal, reachable from your account in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate partial months.

After cancellation your account returns to the free plan. You keep the ability to view and delete proposals you already saved. You will not be able to save new ones or use the other Pro features.

We are not obliged to provide refunds, but if you were charged for a period during which the Service was unusable, contact support@usescopepilot.com and we will deal with it reasonably.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else do so;
  • create proposals that are fraudulent, deceptive or designed to defraud a recipient;
  • upload malware, or attempt to breach, overload, probe or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
  • access another user's account or data;
  • resell or white-label the Service as your own product without written permission.

We may suspend or terminate an account that does any of these, with or without notice depending on severity.

7. Your content

Your proposals are yours. You keep all rights to the content you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process and display it back to you so the Service can function.

We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models.

8. Our content

The ScopePilot name, the software, the site design and the supplied templates remain our property. You may use the output freely in your own business; you may not copy the Service itself.

9. Availability

The Service is provided as-is and as-available. There is no uptime guarantee and no service-level agreement. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we will make a reasonable effort to give notice of anything significant.

10. Backups

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export important proposals to PDF. We take reasonable care of stored data but do not warrant that it can never be lost.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, ScopePilot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits, lost business or lost data, or for any work you did or did not win as a result of using the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us arising from proposals you created, agreements you entered with your clients, or your breach of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date above will change, and material changes affecting paying subscribers will be emailed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion at any time. We may terminate an account for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if we discontinue the Service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your work.
